And then realize you have to actually do all the work
I don’t mind working on the car, but this is going to be a relatively big project I’m
not super excited about doing. My garage time is already preciously thin and now I have school too.
Sometimes I wish ordering parts was all you had to do.
Both hubs, both inner axle seals, pull the ABS tone ring off the old stub shaft, pull apart both stub shafts and reassemble, rebuild.

Fun times... I’m dreading putting the Mini back together a bit as well. I always feel better once im working on the car compared to thinking about it tho.

Can relate. I’ve got a PILE of parts in the corner of my garage waiting for me to work up the energy to put them on the BSA

so true. I’ve done hubs about 3-4 times and I’ve got all the way down to axle shafts at least once so it wont be a mystery, its just a lot of work.

...and then figure out that some of the parts you bought are defective.

Good luck! That’s quite a few parts there. I just had to do wheel bearings on my Mazda and it was a far less complicated hub I had to take down to the spindle.

You post this the day before my timing belt and water pump kit arrives
Why would you do this

May the force be with you.
Any friends with a hot parts washer? Makes it quite a bit more pleasant...

Have you considered burning it down and buying something new?

Completely agree. And I’ve done jobs where I’ve watched the YouTubes and it looked daunting, but never as bad when I actually get in there doing it.
Usually different problems ha.
I bought rear brakes for my Jaguar knowing it’s an extremely difficult job (inboard) thinking it would motivate me to get in there and try.
But I chickened our and they sat in my garage for about a year.
Fortunately my Jag mechanic noticed the diff was leaking badly so I ended up paying him a bunch of money to put them in along with the diff seals. Good thing to, I woulda been way over my head.
